We are pleased to announce a new Cold Spring Harbor Lab meeting, Annexins: 9th International Conference on the Annexins, which will begin at 7:30 pm on Sunday, September 17 and run through lunch on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. This conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the role of the annexins in cellular function. Topics will range from the biophysics of annexin structure, to the molecular pathways relating to annexin functions and new, clinically relevant annexinopathies. The meeting's program will be driven by submission of abstracts, which are due on July 24, 2017.

Keynote Speaker:

Ana Maria Cuervo, Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Topics & Confirmed Discussion Leaders:

Membrane Dynamics
Stephen Moss, UCL-IRIS
Jesper Nylandsted, Danish Cancer Society

Membrane Repair and Remodeling
Annette Draeger, University of Bern
Carlos Enrich, University of Barcelona

Membrane Trafficking, Secretion and Exocytosis
Sylvette Chasserot-Golaz, University of Strasbourg
Volker Gerke, University of Muenster

Annexin Structure and Novel Functions
Mitsumori Kawaminami, Kitasato University
Anni Vedeler, University in Bergen

Host Defense and Pathogen Interactions
Mauro Perretti, Queen Mary University of London
Ursula Rescher, University of Muenster

Annexinopathies, Diagnostics and Treatment
Francesca Cordeiro, UCL-IRIS
Chris Reutelingsperger, Maastricht University

Abstracts are welcomed on all scientific topics related to annexin biology. They should contain only new and unpublished material and must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers and individual session chairs. The status (talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site as soon as decisions have been made.

We are eager to have as many young people as possible to attend since they are likely to benefit most from this meeting. We have applied for funds from industry to partially support graduate students and postdocs. Please apply in writing to Heather Johnson and state your financial needs; preference will be given to those who submit abstracts.
