By train
From New York City (NYC)
The Long Island Rail Road runs between Moynihan Train Hall (Penn Station) in New York City and the Syosset LIRR station. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory provides a complimentary shuttle service between Syosset and Grace Auditorium at CSHL.

From John F. Kennedy International Airport
JFK airport is approximately 45-90 min travel time from CSHL depending on Long Island traffic (which can be bad!). The JFK Airtrain runs between JFK airport and Jamaica in Queens/NYC and connects with the LIRR.
From LaGuardia Airport
LaGuardia (LGA) airport is approximately 45-90 min travel time from CSHL depending on Long Island traffic. To reach CSHL from LaGuardia Airport, you will need to reserve a car (see below) or use Uber/Lyft.
From Long Island MacArthur Airport
MacArthur Airport is approximately 40-60 min away. Uber / Lyft is recommended.
Newark Liberty International Airport (not recommended)
Newark airport (EWR) in New Jersey can take up to two hours by car, and is quite expensive. If you do decide to travel to Newark, the best and most affordable way to get to CSHL is the Newark AirTrain to NYC Penn Station (about an hour). Then follow directions above (getting here from NYC).

Driving Directions
From NYC and points west:
Take I-495E (Long Island Expressway) toward Eastern Long Island to exit41N for New York 106/107 toward Oyster Bay. Turn right onto 107N for about 1mile then another right onto 106N for 3.5 miles. Make a right onto Northern Blvd 25A and travel 4 miles until you reach a traffic light and the CSHL main entrance (Bungtown Road) will be on your left.
From points south:
Take Southern State Pkwy to exit 28A North, merge onto Seaford Oyster Bay (NY-135N) towards Syosset. Proceed to exit at 14E for New York 25E toward Woodbury. Make a left onto South Woods Road and drive for 1.6 miles then turn right onto Cold Spring road for about 1 mile. Continue onto 25A for about 1 mile until you reach a traffic light where the CSHL main entrance (Bungtown Road) will be on your left.
From points east:
I-495W to exit 51 towards NY-231/Babylon/Northport. At traffic light turn right onto Deer Park Ave. Take Country Road 35N to Main Street 25A. Continue on 25A for about four miles until you reach a traffic light and the CSHL main entrance (Bungtown Road) will be on your right.
From Long Island ferries:
Port Jefferson Ferry
Follow 25A west approximately 30 miles to CSHL main entrance (Bungtown Road) on your right.
Cross Sound Ferry
Take route 25 to I-495 W. Proceed to exit 51 towards NY-231/Babylon/Northport. At traffic light turn right onto Deer Park Ave. Take Country Road 35 N to Main Street 25A. Continue on 25A for about four miles until you reach a traffic light and the CSHL main entrance (Bungtown Road) will be on your right.
