We are pleased to offer the sixth Cold Spring Harbor meeting on Telomeres & Telomerase to bring together a diverse group of scientists studying various molecular, cellular and genetic aspects of telomeres and telomerase biology. The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, April 28, and run through lunch on Saturday, May 2, 2009*. The meeting is intended to provide a format for the exchange of ideas and information, to discuss the latest research findings and technical advances, and to facilitate interaction amongst groups active in diverse systems.

Topics and co-Session Chairs:
Telomerase Structure and Biochemistry
Tom Cech & Yehuda Tzfati

Telomeres and Recombination
Raymund Wellinger & Karel Riha

Telomere Length Regulation
Lea Harrington & Katherine Friedman

End Resection and Protection
Carolyn Price & Alison Bertuch

Telomeres and DNA Damage Sensing
Susan Gasser & Carol Greider

Proteins Bound to Telomeric and Sub-telomeric Chromatin
Jan Karlseder & Zhou Songyang

Consequences of Telomere Dysfunction
Stephane Marcand & Liz Blackburn

Telomeres in Senescence, Proliferation and Cancer
Maria Blasco & Woodring Wright

Abstracts should contain only new and unpublished material and must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers and individual session chairs. Status (talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.
