The third Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory/Wellcome Trust
conference on Genomic Perspectives to Host Pathogen
Interactions will be held at the Wellcome
Trust Conference Centre on the Wellcome
Trust Genome Campus in Hinxton, UK. The meeting
will begin in the afternoon of Wednesday September
3 (3pm), and end with a banquet on Friday evening,
with departure on Saturday morning, September
6, 2008.
The focus for this conference is on how the rapid expansion
in host, pathogen and vector genome data and other large
data sets is changing the way we think about host-pathogen-(vector)
interactions. Topics include:
PATHOGENS
free-living / facultative /
opportunistic / epizootic /
obligate / intracellular
HOST
NICHE/DEFENSE
lung / GI / urogenital /
skin / muscle / CNS
blood / lymph / other
VECTORS
genomes / biology / ecology

The
conference will bring together the leading scientists
in this growing field, and we strongly encourage researchers
interested in a variety of different hosts, pathogens
and vectors to attend. As is usual for Cold Spring Harbor
meetings, the majority of oral presentations will be
drawn from openly submitted abstracts.
All registrations and abstracts MUST be submitted by
the abstract deadline, June 25, 2008. Late registration
may be accepted after the abstract deadline if the meeting
is not oversubscribed. In the event of over subscription,
every effort will be made to ensure that all groups
who wish to participate will be represented. Status
(talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web
site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.
