Program
We are pleased to announce the third Cold Spring Harbor conference
on PTEN Pathways & Targets,
which will begin at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, March 16 and run through
lunch on Saturday, March 20, 2010.
The
2010 meeting is intended to bring together a diverse group of
scientists studying various molecular, genetic and biochemical
approaches to the analysis of the PTEN pathway at the cellular
level and in development and diseases including cancer, diabetes,
and neurological disorders such as autism. Junior and senior researchers
will join to discuss their latest research findings and technical
approaches toward the analysis of the PTEN pathway. Particular
emphasis will be given to model systems, disease pathogenesis
and therapy. While a number of speakers have been invited, please
note that the majority of oral presentations will be drawn from
openly submitted abstracts.
Session
Themes:
* PTEN Regulation
* Upstream of PTEN
* Downstream of PTEN (PDK 1/mTORC2/AKT)
* Intersecting Pathways: AMPK/TSC/mTORC1
* Therapeutic Modulation of the Pathway
* Aging, Metabolism and Cancer
* Disease Models

Abstracts
should contain only new and unpublished material and
must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection
of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers and
individual session chairs. Status (talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on
our web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.
We are eager to have as many young people as possible attend since they are
likely to benefit most from this meeting. We have applied for funds from government
and industry to partially support graduate students and postdocs. Apply in writing
to beavers@cshl.edu stating need for financial
support - preference is given to those submitting abstracts.
All questions
pertaining to registration, fees, housing, meals, transportation, visas, abstract
submission or any other matters may be directed to beavers@cshl.edu
We
look forward to seeing you at Cold Spring Harbor in March.
This
conference is supported in part by funds provided by:
National Cancer Institute
We
have funds to provide partial scholarships for individuals who are US citizens/permanent
residents from minority groups under-represented in the life sciences.
Please provide justification in writing to beavers@cshl.edu
