GENE EXPRESSION & SIGNALING IN THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
April 21 - 25, 2010
Abstract Deadline: January 29, 2010

Organizers:
Doreen Cantrell, University of Dundee, UK
Sankar Ghosh, Columbia University, College of P&S
Dan Littman, HHMI/Skirball Institute, NYU School of Medicine
Mark Schlissel, University of California Berkeley

We are pleased to announce the fifth Cold Spring Harbor meeting on Gene Expression & Signaling in the Immune System, which will begin on Wednesday evening, April 21 and end at noon on Sunday, April 25, 2010. We are looking forward to a broad-based meeting, and abstracts are welcomed on all scientific topics related to immune system gene expression and signaling. In addition to a strong focus on lymphocyte development and adaptive immunity, this year's meeting will also emphasize the molecular regulation of innate immune responses.

Topics:
*Stem cells and cell fate decisions
*Regulation of immune cell development
*Chromatin structure and epigenetic regulation
*Antigen receptor gene assembly and modification
*Signal transduction in immune cells
*Regulation of lymphocyte function
*Innate immunity

The format of the meeting will include eight oral sessions and two poster sessions. Each oral session will include invited speakers and speakers selected from submitted abstracts. For this reason, abstracts from accomplished junior and senior investigators are warmly invited. The abstracts should focus on new and unpublished data. The organizers will select abstracts for oral or poster presentations. The status (talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site (below) as soon as decisions have been made. We have applied for funds from government and industry to partially support graduate students and postdocs.

We hope to see you at Cold Spring Harbor in April.

This conference is supported in part by funds provided by:
National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health and Research & Diagnostic Systems, Inc.

We have funds to provide partial scholarships for individuals who are US citizens/permanent residents from minority groups under-represented in the life sciences. Please provide justification in writing to meetings@cshl.edu and state your financial needs. Preference will be given to those applying who submit abstracts to the meeting.
