We are pleased to host a new meeting on Clinical Cardiovascular Genomics, which will begin at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 and run through lunch on Saturday, October 13.

This meeting will address state-of the-art approaches to investigate the molecular and genetic basis of cardiovascular disease. Technologies and applications will be emphasized in both clinical and animal model studies. The expected impact of large scale genetic studies of human disease will be discussed.

Workshops

The format of the meeting will include oral, poster sessions and afternoon workshops. Each oral session will include invited speakers and speakers selected from submitted abstracts. For this reason, abstracts from accomplished junior and senior investigators are strongly invited.

Abstracts should contain only new and unpublished material and must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers and individual session chairs. Status (talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.

We are eager to have as many young people as possible attend since they are likely to benefit most from this meeting. We have applied for funds from government and industry to partially support graduate students and postdocs. Apply in writing to beavers@cshl.edu stating need for financial support - preference is given to those submitting abstracts.

We look forward to seeing you at Cold Spring Harbor in October.
