You are cordially invited to participate in the fifth meeting
on Neurodegenerative Diseases: Biology & Therapeutics,
which will be held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The meeting
will begin with dinner and the first session on the evening of
Thursday, December 4, and will conclude with an evening banquet
on, Saturday December 6, with normal departure on the morning
of Sunday December 7.
Rational drug discovery for neurodegenerative diseases has begun
to yield compounds and approaches which are entering the clinic.
In order for these human studies to yield a maximum of information
and success, it is now more crucial than ever for scientists from
academia and industry to have forums for the exchange of data
and ideas.
This
meeting will consist of six to seven sessions, each of which will
be composed of one talk by the session chair, one talk by an invited
speaker, and several additional talks selected from the submitted
abstracts. It is expected that half of the session chairs and
speakers (invited and from submitted abstracts) will be from each
"sector": i.e., half from academia and half from industry.
Topics:
Triplet Repeat Diseases
Tauopathies
Synucleinopathies
Cerebral Amyloidoses
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

Abstracts
should contain new and unpublished material. Selection of material
for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers
and individual session chairs. Status (talk/poster) of abstracts
will be posted on our website as soon as decisions have been made
by the organizers. Please bring this notice to the attention of
any of your colleagues who may be interested.
We
are eager to have as many young people as possible attend since
they are likely to benefit most from this meeting. We have applied
for funds from government and industry to partially support graduate
students and postdocs. Please register and apply in writing to
meetings@cshl.edu stating
eligibility and need.
We
look forward to seeing you at Cold Spring Harbor in November/December.
