About Us
Cold
Spring Harbor Laboratory invites participation in our
meetings & courses program from all legitimate applicants,
irrespective of gender, race, religious belief or nationality
(see our Diversity Policy)
Meetings
& Conferences
Cold Spring Harbor meetings bring together scientists
from all over the world to present and evaluate new data
and ideas in rapidly moving areas of biological research.
A key feature of Cold Spring Harbor meetings is that the
majority of talks are chosen from openly submitted abstracts
(with the exception of our annual Symposium). Programs
are put together by organizers on the basis of the abstracts,
and so little advance information is generally available
about precise details of the schedule. Many of the talks
include plenty of discussion of unpublished work, making
these meetings a must for graduate students and senior
investigators alike. Researchers who attend Cold Spring
Harbor meetings cite them as among the most informative,
influential, and enjoyable scientific conferences that
one can attend.

- excellent opportunity to present a talk/poster
- more great AND unpublished science
-
excellent networking interactions with peers/PIs
- extensive discussion
- captive audience in the crossroads of modern biology

- idyllic but accessible seaside campus
- retreat-like atmosphere in highly connected campus
- great social interactions
- food, social events, picnics etc.

Courses & Workshops
Our program of courses complement our conferences in terms
of diversity of topic across the spectrum of the biological
sciences - supported by federal and private funds, each
course offers the successful applicant the opportunity
to become rapidly immersed in a new set of concepts and
techniques. Teaching faculty and "students"
openly cite the experience of taking a Cold Spring harbor
course as a highlight in their professional career.
