Sydney Gary is the Assistant Director of the Banbury Center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. She obtained her B.S. in Biology at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, and her Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After several years as a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University studying extracellular matrix components in the developing brain and in brain tumors (in the laboratory of Susan Hockfield), she took a position as a medical writer and editor based in Providence, RI. She came to CSHL in 2005 to develop meetings and courses on neuroscience and mental health topics.
