Featuring Extramural Scientific Program Leaders of the National Institutes of Health together with Neuroscience Study Section Members
If you are a new faculty member trying to secure your first independent neuroscience research award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) don't wait a minute to register for this one day conference. The conference provides an opportunity for new Assistant Professors conducting basic and/or clinical neuroscience research to interact with key NIH scientific program leaders and gain information about agency and institute research priorities as well as insights to the ever-changing and challenging peer review process. The goal is to help new neuroscience investigators successfully compete for independent research grants from the NIH.
Dr. Thomas Insel, Director of NIMH, Dr. Story Landis, Director of NINDS and Dr. Richard Nakamura, Acting Director of the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) along with many program representatives from NIH Neuroscience institutes are scheduled to attend. In addition, NIH CSR Study Section Chairs and members will be participating.
This event is specifically designed for new research faculty in the neurosciences,
focusing on scientific issues and challenges in securing independent
research funding. The conference is targeting faculty and will not cover grants management
or administrative compliance related issues.
